PRINCIPAL

Mrs. Maggie Dowling

I am honored and excited to serve as the Principal of Millis Road Elementary School. As a proud product of Guilford County Schools, it is a privilege to continue serving the community that helped shape my own educational journey.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from UNC Greensboro and my Master's degree in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. Over the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of educational roles, including Exceptional Children teacher, district-level support specialist, curriculum and instructional coach, assistant principal, and now a principal. Each of these experiences has strengthened my passion for supporting students, developing educators, and building positive school cultures where everyone can thrive.

I firmly believe that all students can learn and succeed. My role as a school leader is to ensure that every child has access to high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential. I also believe that the success of our students is directly connected to the strength of the partnerships we build among school, home, and community.

At Millis Road, I am committed to supporting our teachers and staff as they provide exceptional learning experiences for students. Together, we will continue to focus on academic excellence while nurturing the social, emotional, and behavioral growth of every child. My goal is to create a school environment where students feel valued, families feel welcomed, and staff feel supported.

I was thrilled to join the Millis Road community because of its rich traditions, strong culture, and deep commitment to students. I look forward to building relationships with our students, families, staff, and community partners as we continue the outstanding work already taking place at Millis Road.
